6.2 AUTOMATIC MASTERSTREAM NOZZLES

Automatic nozzles maintain a constant pressure by adjusting their orifi ce to match the available fl ow. Consult the nozzle's manufacturer
for maximum fl ow and pressure ratings. In all cases, do not exceed 1250 gpm (5000 l/min). TFT's Masterstream 1250 Nozzle has a
150-1250 gpm (600 - 5000 l/min) fl ow range. Masterstream 1250 Nozzle operating instructions (Item Number LIM-030) are available
on TFT's website: www.tft.com

6.3 STREAM STRAIGHTENERS

6.3.1 STREAM STRAIGHTENERS WITH STACKED TIPS

Stream quality and reach, especially with stacked tip (smooth bore) nozzles, is generally improved with a stream straightener
because the water must make many bends before it reaches the nozzle.

6.3.2 STREAM STRAIGHTENERS WITH FOG NOZZLES

When using a fog nozzle, it is recommended that no stream straightener be used since the fog nozzle's fl ow path generally serves
as a stream straightener. Use of a stream straightener with a fog nozzle will increase the stress on the monitor's gear train and may
lead to premature wear.
