The equip- ment used at the time of printing is described in this handbook and should be transferred accordingly to the layouts of all the different caravan variations.

Please bear in mind that various models have different equipment; therefore, varying descriptions are possible. This makes driving in reverse possible without activating the overrunning brake. However, in addition to rolling resistance, the residual brake force must first be overcome.

    For the sake of traffic safety, the vehicle undercarriage must be maintained just as conscientiously as the base vehicle itself. This maintenance should be carried out by your Fendt dealer. If spare parts are required, use only the original parts designated by the ma- nufacturer.

    3. Undercarriage 3.2 Safety coupling AKS 3004 The caravan is equipped with an anti-rolling coup-ling in accordance with ISO 11555-1. This safety coupling stabilises the caravan while driving and ensures better driving performance. WARNING: The laws of physics cannot be defied with a safety hitch.

    3. Undercarriage To eliminate • Clean the drawbar ball and the friction pads by lighting sanding the pads with sandpaper (grain: 100-120). • Use the lubricating nipple to grease the bushings.     1. Gross vehicle weight rating (g.v.w.r.) The indication of the gross vehicle weight rating is taken directly from Fendt-Caravan. This mass takes into account the specific operating conditions that are based on the model of the caravan and its per- formance, including such factors as material strength, load-carrying capacity of the axles and tyres, etc.

For example to the reinforced material near the screwed connection on the chassis frame / axle carrier behind the axle.     5. Exterior structure In some models (model-specific) a roof vent ensures that the caravan is ventilated. When operating on gas in winter, ensure that there is no snow or ice on the flue. Heating element A ventilation flap provides the heating element under the floor of the vehicle with fresh air.

Exterior structure The entry door has been constructed in such a manner that there is a certain initial tension around the lock to ensure that the seal around the door leaf rests correctly at the top and bottom against the door frame. Occasionally, this may cause a slight tension in the locking mechanism of the door and when opening the door from outside by pulling on the door handle.

    6. Interior structure 6.1 Doors, flaps, drawers and kitchen worktop Drawers and furniture doors with a push lock (press-lock knob) To open: • Press the push-lock until the knob jumps up. • Pull on the knob or handle until the drawer slides out or the flap or door opens.

Gas Before first use • Ventilation openings should remain unob-structed. • If necessary, remove snow from the flue and/or mount the flue extension. • Remove any dirt and snow/debris mixture from the suction openings under the vehicle floor; otherwise, the levels of carbon monoxide could increase to dangerous levels.

    9. Gas If you suspect leaks, have your dealer or another expert inspect for leaks. Such an inspection may never be conducted in the presence of open flames. 9.3 Hot-air heating Heating element S 5004 and S 3004 (model/series-specific) You are not permitted to operate the heating system while driving.
  • Page 91 9. Gas • If the flame extinguishes again, re-ignition takes place during the closing phase of the fusible cut-out of the ignition safety switch (approx. 30 seconds). • If no flame is ignited, the automatic ignitor k will continue to work until the operation handle is switched to “0”.
  • Page 92 9. Gas If less air is circulated or the noise from the blower increases, this means that the ventilation wheel is dirty. As a rule, the heating elment casing and vacuum pipe should be removed from the heating element approxi- mately every 500 hours of operation and the ventilation wheel should be gently cleaned with a thin brush.

Gas Important information • Please read the separate operating instructions carefully before initial operation of the heating system. • Always turn off the main switch for the heating system whene- ver the vehicle is not in use. • If there is danger of frost, always drain off the fresh water in the hot-water heater.
  • Page 94 9. Gas The flow control and thus the efficiency of the two water circuits (living room/bedroom) can be regulated by means of the shutoff valves. One shutoff valve is located in the seating bench in the front (right- hand side in the direction of traffic) and one in the bedroom. The photo on the left shows a shutoff valve that is closed.

System (model-specific/special accessory) you can also use your smartphone to operate and control the Truma Combi heating system. Your smartphone must be suitable and set up for such apps.     Continuous 12V current is required to operate the refri- gerator self-sufficiently using gas. Should your Fendt caravan not be equipped with a self-sufficient package, an external 12V power supply (which is not included in the scope of delivery) is re- quired.
