Flex vs. Float

When to Lock and When to Unlock
Float – refers to the vertical separation (or movement) of the Header from the Float Module.
Flex – refers to the movement of the 3 piece header frame including the knife.
Float
Flex
Always Lock Float for transport.
Always Unlock Float when operating in the field.
Handle position (A) is locked for transport.
Rotate handle to position (B) for field operation.
2 latches – one on either side of Float Module.
Always Lock Flex for transport.
Can be either locked or unlocked in the field.
2 latches - one on either side. Each wing works independently.
Reel moves with cutterbar to maintain close relationship with knife.
Left picture shows handle (A) in wing locked position.
B
Right picture shows handle (B) in wing unlocked position.
