Step 5: Install 5:1 Gear Set and VersaPlanetary Lite Ring Gear
WARNING: APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF WHITE LITHIUM GREASE ON THE
CARRIER PLATE PINS AND GEAR TEETH. LUBRICATING THE CARRIER PLATE
PINS WILL HELP REDUCE FRICTION BETWEEN THE PIN AND THE PLANET GEAR,
WHICH WILL IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY AND LONGEVITY OF THE GEARBOX. BE
CAREFUL NOT TO OVER LUBRICATE THE GEARBOX TO THE POINT WHERE THE
GEARBOX BECOMES DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN.
Next, install the 5:1 Gear Set so that the sun gear is engaged with the VersaPlanetary Input
Coupler. Once the 5:1 Gear Set is installed, slide the VersaPlanetary Lite Ring Gear over the
5:1 Gear Set. Make sure that the ring gear is seated all the way into the VersaPlanetary Input
Block.
