TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does
not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so,
have a qualified technician service the tool.
Problem(s)
Poor
performance
(plate
compactor
does not
develop to
its full
speed).
Engine is
running but
not
vibrating.
Plate jumps
or compacts
unevenly.

JPC60 Plate Compactor
Possible Cause(s)
1. The engine throttle
is not open fully.
2. The throttle lever is
not set correctly.
3. The ground is too
wet for
compacting.
4. Drive belt is loose
or worn out and
slips on pulleys.
5. Vibrating shaft
bearings are
binding.
6 Air filter is clogged
with dust, reducing
engine
performance.
7 The engine speed is
too low.
1. The engine throttle
is not opened.
2. Clutch is damaged.
3. Engine speed is too
low.
4. The drive belt is
loose or broken.
1. The ground surface
is too hard.
2. Rubber isolator is
loose or damaged.
Suggested Solution(s)
1. Open the engine throttle
completely.
2. Set the throttle lever.
3. Dry the soil before
compacting.
4. Check whether the
engine mounting bolts
are tight. Adjust or
replace the belt.
5. Check the oil condition
and level in the vibrator
housing. Add/change
the oil.
6. Clean or replace the air
filter cartridge.
7. Check the engine speed
with tachometer and
adjust the engine to run
at correct speed. Refer
to the engine instruction
manual.
1. Open engine throttle.
2. Replace the clutch.
3. Too much oil in the
vibrator housing. Adjust
the oil level.
4. Adjust/replace drive
belt.
1. Wet soil or ground and
allow to seep in before
compacting.
2. Adjust/replace the
rubber isolator.
