5. While holding the brake lever, push the engine start button of the
equipment powered by this engine.
Then the battery indicator lights off, and the engine starts.
Do not start the engine when the equipment powered by this engine is
limited in function (for example, when a blade of lawn mower is locked).
If the engine starting procedure is tried in that state, the starter rotation
will stop automatically. The engine cannot be started if the starter does
not rotate.
And then if the engine starting procedure is tried several times, the
battery indicator will not be indicated and the engine will not start
because of battery protection. Wait for a while and try to start the engine
again.
If the engine fails to start within 3 seconds, the battery indicator
lights on or flashes for 5 seconds again to indicate the battery charge
state (see page 6).
After the battery charge state is indicated, push the engine start
button again.
If the battery indicator flashes, the battery is low. A longer working time
is recommended to secure the sufficient amount of battery charge
through self-charging.
If the battery indicator is off during starting procedures, charge the
battery with the external USB charger (see page 6).
If the engine starts after storage for more than 1 month, push the engine
start button of the equipment powered by this engine to start the battery
and make sure that the battery indicator is flashes.
6. [Without CHOKE LEVER type]
(applicable types)
When the engine warms up, move the control lever to FAST or SLOW
position.
See Figure 4, page A-2.
• Automatic Choke Type (applicable types)
1. Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
See Figure 1, page A-2.
2. With FLYWHEEL BRAKE LEVER type (applicable types):
Move the flywheel brake lever to the RELEASED position.
See Figure 3, page A-2.
3. [MANUAL THROTTLE type] (applicable types)
Move the control lever to the FAST position.
See Figure 4, page A-2.
4. Clutch the brake lever of the equipment powered by this engine.
The battery indicator lights on or flashes for 5 seconds to indicate the
battery charge state (see page 6) when the brake lever of the
equipment powered by this engine is clutched.
5. While holding the brake lever, push the engine start button of the
equipment powered by this engine.

Position the control lever for the desired engine speed.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

1. [MANUAL THROTTLE type] (applicable types)
Move the control lever to the SLOW position.
See Figure 4, page A-2.
2. With FLYWHEEL BRAKE LEVER type (applicable types):
Return the flywheel brake lever to the ENGAGED position. The engine
switch, which is linked with the flywheel brake lever, is turned off
when the flywheel brake lever is moved to the ENGAGED position.
See Figure 3, page A-2.
Without FLYWHEEL BRAKE LEVER type (applicable types):
Move the control lever to the STOP position.
The engine switch, which is linked with the control lever, is turned off
when the control lever is moved to the STOP position.
See Figure 5, page A-2.
3. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position.
See Figure 1, page A-2.
