Table 2-3. SAF-TE Switch Functions
Switch Function
1 Sets the bus mode.
The
DOWN
bus mode. In this configuration, all 12 disk drives are on a
single SCSI bus and are accessed through the Channel 1
Input connector on the disk I/O card. See

The
UP
mode. In this configuration, the disk drives in slots 1–6 are
on one SCSI bus and are accessed through the Channel 1
Input connector and the disk drives in slots 7–12 are on
the other SCSI bus and are accessed through the Channel
2 Output connector on the same disk I/O card.
2 and 3 Determines the disk drive SCSI ID configuration. See

4 Determines the disk drive SCSI ID configuration. See

Note: Make sure switch 4 is set to the up position
whenever connecting the DuraStor 312R to any

RAID controller.

6 Sets the baud rate for VT-100 connection to the RS-232
port.
