Replacing a RAID Controller
When a RAID controller fails
The alarm sounds.
The Fault LED on the front bezel lights up.
A Controller Status LED goes out, indicating which RAID
controller has failed.
The system monitor displays an error event.
A failed controller should be replaced immediately.
Note: The DuraStor 6200S/7200S external RAID controller
is hot-swappable.
1 Remove the front bezel. See
2 Identify and locate the failed RAID controller. Controller 1 is on
the left and Controller 2 is on the right.
3 Pull out on the two latches that secure the controller canister.
4 Using the latches as handles, carefully pull the controller
canister from the RAID appliance. See
Figure 5-1. Removing the Controller
5 Install the replacement controller in the controller canister. Refer
to your controller's installation guide and/or the
DuraStor 6200S/7200S External RAID Controller Installation Guide
for detailed instructions.
