Changing PIN Codes
NOTICE: This feature is only available when enabled by your service provider.
Procedure:
1 From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2 From the home screen, press the Menu/OK key.
3 Select Security→Change Code.
4 Radio prompts for the Old Code.
NOTICE: By default the PIN code are all zeros (depending on the length of the PIN
code). For radios with general PIN authentication, the PIN length is a fixed 4-digit code.
For radios with BSI PIN authentication, the PIN length is configurable by your service
provider up to a maximum of 8-digit code.
5 If the entered code matches the old code, radio prompts for the new code twice.
Your radio displays Code Accepted.
4.11.2
Setting Keypad Lock
The keypad lock/unlock can be invoked from the radio menu, or by using a predefined menu shortcut.
By default, the Power and Emergency buttons are always operative when the keypad is locked.
Procedure:
1 To unlock, perform one of the following actions:
Press Menu→*.
2 To lock, press Menu and select Security→Keylock Setup→Lock Keypad.
3 To lock, press Menu/OK and select Security→Keylock Setup→Lock Keypad.
4 To unlock, perform one of the following actions:
If the display is turned on and the buttons are active, press Back→Up→Menu/OK.
If the display is turned off, press the Power button to wake the display, press the Menu/OK
button to activate the buttons, and press Back→Up→Menu/OK.
NOTICE: If Auto Lock is turned on, the keypad automatically locks when the timer
expires.
4.11.3
Air Encryption
NOTICE: This is a Software Selling Feature.
This menu item allows you only to view air encryption state.
Air Encryption is a feature that enables encryption of entire communication between the radio and
infrastructure, which results in increased security of calls, messages, and data.
If configured by your service provider, the radio plays a sound and displays Call & Data Not
Encrypted when encryption is on and you receive a clear call (unencrypted). This feature provides
service confidentiality between you and the system.
