1. Identify futon body (A) and seat legs (B) of the frame. There is a face plate on one side of the futon
body. This is the front of the frame. The bottom side of the futon body will have three (3) wooden
support braces attached. Lay the futon body bottom side up on a protected surface to protect the top
side of the frame.
2. The seat legs have one end that is wider than the other. Place
one seat leg on the
on the right side of the futon body. The narrower edge of the
seat leg should be facing towards the hinges and the wider
edge will rest against the face plate at the front of the frame.
Make sure the holes in the seat leg line up with the holes in
the support brace.
Starting from the inside

holes in the seat leg and through the corresponding holes in the support
brace. Secure each with a washer and wing nut, but leave loose. Once
both carriage bolts have been threaded through the seat leg, go back and
tighten the wing nuts completely. The washers and wing nuts should be
facing the outside edge of the frame if installed correctly. Repeat steps 2
and 3 to attach the leg on the left side of the frame.
4. Carefully turn the frame over so that it is resting on the legs
installed in step 2 and step 3. Fold the back section of the
frame forward so it is resting on the seat portion of the frame.
5. Locate the back legs (C) of the frame.
6. The back legs have one end that has a large hole. Place one back
outside
leg on the
side of the futon body. The side of the back leg with the large
hole should be facing towards the hinges. Make sure the small
holes in the back leg line up with the holes in the support brace.
