Setting up audio options

1 Set a disc and then go to stop con-
dition.
2 Press the SET UP key.
3 Press the cursor
key to select the AUDIO OPTIONS,
then press the ENTER key.
4 Press the cursor
key to select the desired item, then
press the ENTER key.
5 Press the cursor
key to select the desired sub item,
then press the ENTER key.

A digital surround sound format
that is recorded by Dolby Digital
Audio. Select the suitable output
signal type of DIGITAL AUDIO
OUTPUT (Bitstream/PCM) during
playback.
A digital surround sound format
that is recorded by MPEG-2 Au-
dio. Select the suitable output sig-
nal type of MPEG-2 DIGITAL OUT
(Bitstream/PCM) during playback.
This program features discrete 5.1
channel sound-track and must be
played though DTS-capable
equipment. When played through
DTS equipment, sound will be
heard from all five system speak-
ers and a super woofer.
Compresses the dynamic range
(quietest to loudest sound) of a
disc's sound-track. This function
is disc-dependent, and may not
work with all DVDs.
Turns audio off or on when a disc
is in 2 x playback mode.
÷ Though 2 x SCAN AUDIO is ON
in SETUP MENU, no sound will
be heard on discs which are
recorded with LPCM or DTS.
Adjusts the speaker size, the sound
balance between speakers, etc.

÷ Direct input with the numeric keys also is possible.
÷ When playing DTS-encoded (CDs, LDs, DVDs), ex-
cessive noise will be exhibited from the analog ste-
reo outputs. To avoid possible damage to the audio
system, the consumer should take proper pre-cau-
tions when the analog stereo outputs of the DVD
player is connected to an amplification system.
÷ PCM :
Converts to PCM (2CH) of 48 kHz/16 Bit. Select PCM
when using the analog audio outputs.
÷ BITSTREAM :
Converts to Dolby Digital BITSTREAM (5.1 CH).
Select BITSTREAM when using the digital audio
outputs.
÷ PCM :
Converts to PCM (2CH) of 48 kHz/16 Bit. Select PCM
when using the analog audio outputs.
÷ BITSTREAM :
Converts to MPEG-2 audio BITSTREAM (1 CH to 5.1
CH). Select BITSTREAM when using the digital
audio outputs.
÷ ON :
Outputs DTS BITSTREAM via only digital output.
Select DTS when connecting to a DTS DECODER.
÷ OFF :
Doesn't output digital signal.
÷ ON :
To select dynamic compression.
÷ OFF :
To select the standard range.
÷ ON :
Turn 2 x audio on.
÷ OFF :
Turn 2 x audio off.
