6.4 Replacement of circulating lubricant

6.4.1 Specification of lubricant

The bearing box of extruder is lubricated by circulating oil. Lubricant names and codes: ISO-VG68
Bearing oil (room temperature≥0℃); ISO-VG32 Bearing oil (-8℃≤room temperature≤0℃).

6.4.2 Oil drain and refill

1. Vent hood 2.Oil refill inlet 3.Cover plate of bearing pedestal 4.Oil drainage outlet 5.Bearing box
(1) For oil change, drain the oil at the following two positions:
Position I: see Fig.6-1 (bearing pedestal), remove the screw at the position of "oil drainage outlet"
to drain oil, two outlets in total.
Position II: see Fig.6-14 (main bearing and its accessories), remove the part # 4 (stainless steel
plug DN15) for oil drainage.
(2)Open each cover plate (or observation door) to empty the oil from the pedestal. Clean out the
residue at the box bottom with compressed air.
(3)To refill, block up the two oil outlets then remove the vent hood on the bearing pedestal. Fill oil via
the oil refill inlet.
(4)When the bearing pedestals are full, the oil will directly flows into the oil tanks till reaching to the
upper level.
(5)The oil quantity needed is about 60kg.

6.5 Other lubrication points

The rotation parts on feeder, conditioner and cutting device shall be lubricated by lubricant grease, as
shown in Fig.6-2.
These parts include:
(1) Gear motor of the feeder (2 point);
(2) Bearings at two ends of the feeder case (2 points);
(3) Motor of the conditioner (2 points);
(4) Bearings at two ends of the conditioner case (4 points);
(5) Main motor of the extruder (2 points);
(6) Bearing pedestal (1 points);
