Suggested Stimulus File Changes

1.
In SigGenRZ, we supply a tone example called TonePip.sig. For mouse models, most
customers like this as a starting point with two edits:
a.
Most mouse researchers find that the best responses are achieved with a 2-4 ms
stimulus. A 2.5 ms duration is most commonly used. Make this change as shown below
in red. Click on the Duration variable and change the Default/Start from 5 to 2.5, then
click OK.
b.
Most mouse researchers find that the best responses are achieved with a 0.2 to 0.8 ms
gate time. A 0.2 ms gate is most commonly used. Make this change as shown below in
orange. Click on the Gate Time variable and change the Default/Start from 2 to .2, then
click OK.
c.
We recommend saving this resulting tone pip with a new name, such as
"Mouse_TonePip.sig" or similar.
2.
Going back to BioSigRZ, you must open your .acf file made in the previous section
("Template_ToneABR.acf"). Click on Setup → Stimulus → Ch1, then change the Primary file
from "TonePip" to the new file ("Mouse_TonePip.sig") by pressing the browse button and
selecting the new file (see below circled in red). Click OK, and then OK again and then save
the resulting file as "Template_ToneABR.acf" or similar as discussed in the previous section.
