Installation Guide for 701946-(X)WMLP1
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. New installation and LED Retrofit Kit installation requires knowledge of sign electrical systems. If not qualified, do not
attempt installation. Contact a qualified electrician. Follow all NEC and local codes. PosterBOX Mini is not suitable for submersion or direct exposure to water

Tools: Required – Measuring tape, wire
strippers, drill, and screwdriver.
Layouts: Mount PosterBOX Mini modules
on return of both long sides of sign box. If
brighter output is desired, mount on all four
(4) sides. It's recommended to test LED
density in a sample cabinet to evaluate
brightness, uniformity, and color. If you have
questions or require assistance in testing,
please contact your SloanLED Customer
Service Representative.
2. Peel and stick: Using provided double stick
tape, mount PosterBOX Mini modules to
sides of sign box.
WARNING: Check Polarity – All connections must be RED-TO-RED (+) and BLACK-TO-BLACK (-). Reverse polarity connections may damage LEDs and will void product warranty.

Supplies: Required – Wire nuts and IDC
connectors or butt splices with appropriate safety
agency markings. Optional – PLTC cable, cable
ties, #6 (M3) pan head sheet metal screws or
1/8" (3 mm) aluminum rivets and silicone.
NOTE: For optimum internal reflection in single-
sided sign boxes, mount modules 0.2"-0.4"
(5-10 mm) from rear wall. For double-sided
sign boxes, mount modules in center of return.
3. Fasteners: If desired, modules can be
secured to sides of sign box using #6 (M3)
pan head sheet metal screws or 1/8"
(3 mm) aluminum rivets.
For New Installation, proceed with Step
1 below. For Retrofit Installations, begin
with Retrofit Instructions on page 2.

• SloanLED PosterBOX Mini modules,
model numbers 701946-(X)WMLP1
• SloanLED 12 V Class 2 output power supply
(refer to "12 VDC Power Supply Capacity
Chart" for appropriate model numbers
• Optional: UL approved 18 AWG (1 mm²),
or larger diameter supply wire
• UL approved wire connectors appropriate
for wire gauge used
• Optional for mounting: Electrical grade
silicone, cable ties, #6 (M3) pan head sheet
metal screws, or 1/8" (3 mm) aluminum rivets
1. Clean surface: Clean inside of sign box with
rubbing alcohol and allow to dry. Clean all
mounting surfaces with alcohol for proper
tape adhesion.
4. Connections: Modules may be connected
in series or parallel. Modules should not be
looped to create a closed circuit. Cap all
unused, exposed wire ends.
