Field Cut Guide for 701189-C-(X) and 701994-(X)

Conformal coat

1. Gather materials: Sandpaper, Weld-On #16,
conformal coat for sealing edge of LED board
(Humiseal 1B73 or Electrolube APL),
and acrylic (field) end-cap.
4. With PCB extended beyond plastic shell,
seal end of LED board with conformal
coat: Brush conformal coat (Humiseal 1B73
or Electrolube APL) ONLY onto exposed cut
edge of LED board, to seal from moisture,
with PCB extended, allow to dry for 7 minutes.
Do not apply conformal coat to cut edge
of extrusion or end-cap.
Weld-On #16
2. Cutting (see the following product specific instructions):
To cut a section, measure length from end to cut mark
nearest required length. Use a power miter saw to ensure
a straight 90° cut. Use a sharp blade to ensure
a smooth clean cut.
LEDStripe – To cut a section, measure length from
LARGE connector end to cut mark nearest required
length. Remaining piece with small connector is scrap.
All LEDStripe lengths can be cut in field in 3" (75 mm)
increments, except 1' (305 mm) lengths can be cut in 1"
to 1.5" (25 to 38 mm) increments, on cut marks visible
through mounting track.
SloanLED LEDBlade – Can be cut at 3.2" (81.3
mm) intervals on cutmarks (visible through lens of
assembly). If cut on mark, both pieces of SloanLED
LEDBlade will illuminate after cutting.
Correct
7 minutes
WARNING: Avoid getting any conformal coat on end of extrusion.
Conformal coat will prevent bonding of extrusion and end-cap, causing water ingress.
AVERTISSEMENT: Évitez toute couche conforme à la fin de l'extrusion.

Cut marks
3. Deburr LED Board and Extrusion: Gently
pull LED board out of tube about 0.25" (6 mm).
Deburr cut-end of LED board and extrusion
with enclosed sandpaper. Make sure to remove
all debris from LED board and extrusion.
DO NOT push PCB back into extrusion at
this point. Follow Step 4.
