Resetting a module

Introduction
With "Restore Factory Setting", the IO-Link I/O module is set to the delivery condition. All
information that was saved internally on the IO-Link I/O module is deleted.
Options for resetting
You can reset the IO-Link I/O module in S7-PCT.
You have two different possibilities for this.
• "Application Reset"
• "Restore Factory Setting"
Result after "Application Reset"
The "Application Reset" command resets the application-specific parameters to the default
values. The identification parameters of the module remain unchanged.
The command is not followed by a module restart or a communication interruption.
Result after "Restore Factory Setting"
The "Restore Factory Setting" command causes three different actions. The actions are
dependent on the data backup setting on the IO-Link master.
• "None":
The default parameters of the IO-Link I/O module are loaded. The IO-Link I/O module
performs a restart.
• "Restore":
The saved parameters at the time of the backup are loaded. The IO-Link I/O module
performs a restart.
• "Backup&Restore":
The parameters that were in the IO-Link I/O module before the "Restore Factory Setting"
command are loaded. The IO-Link I/O module performs a restart.
Requirement
An online connection must exist to reset an IO-Link I/O device.
