cells of the battery open until the end of the charging process. In case of maintenance-free batteries, please follow the instructions of the battery
manufacturer to the letter.
Connecting of battery charger
Attention: Ensure that the charger is not connected to the power socket. Principally connect the red positive cable (+) of the charger
to the positive pole of the battery first. Subsequently, connect the black minus cable (-) to the negative pole of the battery. If you
charge the battery in situ, connect the black negative cable (-) to the car body, far away from the battery, the carburettor and fuel
lines. Always maintain this sequence.
Protection from connection to the wrong pole
The device is equipped with a fuse in order to protect the user from injury and the device from damage in case of accidental connection to the
wrong poles. In the event of a wrong connection, this fuse is activated and subsequently requires a replacement with a fuse of the same type.
This fuse is located in a bracket at the bottom of the device.
Charging of battery
Now, connect the power plug of the charger to the mains socket. The charging process has now started and the control LED „LADEN" (CHARGING)
lights up.
The charging time of the battery depends on several factors, such as the capacity of the battery, the ambient temperature, the battery level, the
performance of the charger, etc. An empty 36 Ah battery, at an ambient temperature of 20 °C, is fully loaded with this device in approx. 9 hours.
It is very important to monitor the charging process in short intervals in order to prevent overcharge damages. Finish the charging process when
the control LED „VOLL" (FULL) is lit up by pulling the mains cable of the battery charger from the mains socket.
Removing of charger
Attention: First, pull the mains power plug from the socket and observe the sequence when disconnecting. This prevent the genera-
tion of sparks. This is extremely important for your safety, as highly explosive oxyhydrogen is generated during the charging process.
Separate the charger from the supply network.
Then, remove the connection of the black clamp (-). Now, remove the battery clamp from the positive pole (+) of the battery.
Allow the battery to cool down and fill the cells with distilled water up to the level specified by the battery manufacturer. Close the battery cells
with the stoppers.
Maintenance and care
Maintenance The device is maintenance-free if used according to its intended purpose.
Care Clean the pole clamps after each charging process. Remove all battery acid splashes from the pole clamps to prevent corrosion. Carefully
clean the device with a dry cloth. Do not use liquids or chemical cleaning agents. Never submerge the device in liquid. Never allow liquid to run
over the device.
Insert the cable holders in the top bores of the casing screws on the back of the device. Properly roll up the cable before storing the device to
prevent damage to the cables and the device. Store the device in a dry and clean location.
Information regarding environmental protection
Do not dispose of the device in household garbage. Electrical and electronic scrap has to be collected separately and disposed of in an
environmentally responsible manner for recycling. Please contact your community or city administration regarding disposal options for
electronic scrap.
