by specialists. Where the use of a dust-extraction
device is possible it shall be used. When indic-
ated wear a respirator appropriate for the type of
dust generated. Ensure that the workplace is well
ventilated. Follow national requirements for the
materials you want to work with.
3.3.4 Mechanical safety precautions
a) The contact pressure safety device prevents un-
intentional triggering and driving a nail, i.e. before
it is pressed firmly against a solid surface.
b) Use only fasteners of a type approved for use with
the tool.
c) When using the nail magazine, the nail detection
feature prevents actuation without a nail loaded,
which could damage the tool.
3.3.5 Personal safety
a) Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause
hearing loss.

3.3.6 Electrical safety
Concealed electric cables or gas and water pipes
present a serious hazard if damaged while you are
working. Accordingly, check the area in which you
are working beforehand (e.g. using a metal detector).
External metal parts of the tool or machine may become
live, for example, when an electric cable is damaged
accidentally.
