6 Operation

WARNING
Risk of accident! Pushing the fastener guide into the
tool through pressure applied by part of the body makes
the tool ready for driving a nail in a way that is contrary
to instructions. Never use a part of the body to push in
the fastener guide. Never pull the fastener guide back
with your hand or with another object. Do not override
the contact pressure safety device when inserting a
fastener in the fastener guide.
WARNING
When a nail is driven, fragments of the base material may
splinter away and parts of the nail strip may be ejected.
These flying fragments and parts may cause injury to the
body and eyes. You and any bystanders must wear
protective glasses and a hard hat.
CAUTION
The nail pusher, if it jumps back under spring pressure,
may cause injury and damage to the fastening tool. When
pulling the nail pusher down, take care to ensure that
it engages securely. Do not allow the nail pusher to
jump back under spring pressure.
CAUTION
During frequent use of the tool the hand may suffer
chafing through contact with the upper grip area. Wear
protective gloves.

4.
Hold the nail pusher securely and press the nail
pusher release button.
5.
Allow the nail pusher to move slowly back into
position.
6.
If you wish to use a fastening element, insert it in the
depression provided in the fastener guide.
5.3.2 Loading in single-fastener mode 4
1.
Empty (unload) the magazine before driving single
fasteners (see 6.5.1).
NOTE Driving fasteners in single-fastener mode with
a loaded magazine may cause damage to the fasten-
ing tool.
2.
Place the nail and the fastener in the depression
provided in the fastener guide.
NOTE Driving a fastener when several fasteners are
present in the fastener guide may cause damage to
the fastening tool. When using the fastening tool
in single-fastener mode, always insert only one
nail.
3.
Activate the single-fastener selector switch.
NOTE The single-fastener switch should be heard to
engage. If the nail pusher is pulled down a few cen-
timeters the single-fastener switch will disengage.
CAUTION
When holding the tool with both hands, make sure
that the cooling air slots are not covered.
6.1 Extending/retracting the support leg 5
On even surfaces, use of the support leg helps to ensure
that the fastening tool is held at right angles to the working
surface as it is then only necessary to pay attention
to perpendicularity in the lateral direction. On uneven
surfaces it may necessary to retract the support leg in
order to ensure that the fastening tool is perpendicular to
the working surface.
When the support leg is in the extended position it is
possible to use the scaffold hook to attach the fastening
tool to a scaffold bar.
6.1.1 Retracting the support leg
1.
CAUTION Risk of finger injury! When extend-
ing/retracting the support leg there is a risk of trap-
ping the fingers between the scaffold hook and the
casing of the tool. Hold the fastening tool by the
grip when extending/retracting the support leg.
Release the support leg from its extended position
by applying pressure to it from above.
2.
Pivot the support leg back through about 180°.
3.
Engage the support leg in its retracted position by
applying pressure to it from below.
