OPC HOSE REPAIR

WARNING: DO NOT modify or alter the length of any
hoses or tubing.
1. To remove the Oetiker clamp;
a. Assemble the 4 in 1 screwdriver with the large flathead.
b. Carefully slide the 4 in 1 screwdriver under the tab of
the Oetiker clamp. Lift the tab until the clamp disengages
from itself.
c. Continue to lift up on the end of the clamp, unwrap and
remove it from the hose. Do not slide the clamp, the small
spring section of the clamp may puncture the outer case
of the hose.
d. Soak the end of the hose in hot water for 1 minute.
e. Remove the hose end from the hot water. Wrap the
fitting with a clean towel and pull the hose off. Avoid direct
contact with the hot water.
2. To install the new hose fitting:
a. Slide the Oetiker clamp up the hose no more than ¾".
b. Make sure not to slide the outer cover of the hose back
off the inner tubing. If this happens, pull the outer cover
back into place. NOTE: The coiled hose has no outer jacket.
c. Push the appropriate fitting into the hose until it stops.
d. Work the Oetiker clamp down to within ⅛" of the fitting collar.
e. Using the provided Oetiker clamp pliers, squeeze the
protruding part of the clamp until it stops. Grab the fitting
and lightly pull on the hose to check the clamps are
securely fastened.
f. Inspect the hose assembly and ensure there are no cuts
or bunches in the hose.
3. Use the following procedure to repair the OPC hoses.
a. Follow steps 1a through 2f for the OPC inlet hose w/ QD fitting.
b. The procedure for the OPC outlet hose will be the same
as in 3a with one additional step. Using a very sharp knife,
carefully cut around the black outer cover of the hose, 5/8"
from the end and remove the cover. The blue inner tubing
is under the black outer cover.
