I have an old model F electric CM chain hoist that has a jammed chain. What is the procedure to unjam the chain?
It jammed while lowering the chain with an empty load. It tries to lower the chain but just hums. It will not attempt to raise the load by operating the control.

On two and three part reeved hoists, check for twists in the load chain. A twist can occur if the lower hook block has been capsized between the strands of chain. Reverse the capsize to remove twist. Allowing the load to bear against the hook latch and/or hook tip can result in loss of load.
