104 Starting and driving ›
Idle position
There is no transmission of engine power to the
wheels.
Forward drive / sports program
The gear is changed automatically.
In mode the gear is changed at higher speeds
than in mode .

When the selector lever is in the position

Operation
Start up

Keep the brake pedal depressed.
›
Start the engine.
›
Press the button on the selector lever and set it to
the desired position.

Release the brake pedal and press the accelerator
pedal lightly.
Speeding up while driving (kick-down)

Fully depress the accelerator.
Stopping temporarily (e.g. at a junction)

Leave the selector lever in the position
