W hen the amplifier and the tuner are connected w ith the system control cord
Even if the input selector of the amplifier is connected to the source other than the tuner, the input selector of the amplifier sw itches to the
tuner w hen the desired program starts in the EON reservation mode.
Combined w ith the [SL16], the input selector returns to the original source after the desired program finishes, how ever, w ith a [XS8] it w ill not.
In case of difficulty
What appears to be a malfunction may not alw ays be serious. If your unit should not perform as expected, consult the table below to see if the
problem can be corrected before seeking help from your dealer or service representative.
Operation to reset
The microcomputer may fall into malfunction (impossibility to
operate, erroneous display, etc.) when the pow er cord is unplugged
w hile pow er is ON or due to an external factor. In this case, ex-
ecute the follow ing procedure to reset the microcomputer and
return it to normal condition.
Symptom
No sound is heard.
Radio stations cannot be received.
No station is received w hen a numeric key
pressed.
Interference.
Sound is distorted w hen the IF BAND is set
to N ARROW (KTF-3010 only).
Do not use contact cleaners because it could cause a malfunction. Be specially careful against contact cleaners containing oil, for they may
deform the plastic components.

Unplug the pow er cord from the pow er socket and, w hile
holding the ON / STAN DBY key depressed, plug the pow er
cord into the socket again.
÷ Please note that resetting the microcomputer clears the contents
stored in it and returns it to the condition w hen it left the factory.
Cause
÷ The tuner is not connected to the amplifier.
÷ No antenna is connected.
÷ The broadcast band is not set properly.
÷ The frequency of the desired station is not
tuned.
÷ The AN T A/ B key is not set properly
(KTF-3010 only).
÷ The signal detected by the antenna is w eak.
÷ No station is preset in the recalled channel.
÷ The preset memory w as cleared because the
pow er cord had been unplugged for a long
period of time.
÷ Noise due to ignition noise of an automobile.
÷ Noise due to an influence from an electric
appliance.
÷ Noise due to a nearby TV set.
÷ There is a PC nearby.
÷ The broadcasted sound level is too high.

Remedy
÷ Use audio cords to connect the tuner to the
amplifier.
÷ Connect an antenna.
÷ Set the broadcast band properly.
÷ Tune the frequency of the desired station.
÷ Set the AN T A/ B key properly.
(KTF-3010 only).
÷ If located far from the broadcast station, in-
stall a dedicated FM outdoor antenna (5–6
elements).
÷ Preset the desired station.
÷ Preset the station again.
÷ Install the outdoor antenna aw ay from the
road.
÷ Turn off the pow er of the appliance.
÷ Install the system further apart from the TV set.
÷ Install the system further apart from the PC.
÷ Set the IF BAN D to W IDE .
