7.6 Adding Water

7.6.1 Engine Cooling Water

• Wait for engine to cool after operation (about 10 minutes) before opening radia-
tor cap. Opening cap too soon may release boiling water and cause burns.
• Take extreme care not to approach it to a fire because anti-freezing solution is
inflammable. Also, take extreme care when handing it because anti freezing
solution is toxic. If it is caught in eyes, wash clean the eyes with water and see a
doctor.
Engine cooling water is low when cooling water lamp is lit.
Immediately inspect and add water.

1. Open the engine cover, and lock it firmly with the
stay-bar.
(See page 15)
2. When the engine is cold, check the engine cooling
water level in the reservoir tank. If the level is below
the [FULL] mark, add water.
Reservoir tank capacity: 0.7 liters.
3. Open the radiator cap.
4. Check the engine cooling water level. If the
level is low, add water.
Cooling water amount: 1.8 liters.
Antifreeze Mixture (Reference)
When this machine is shipped from the factory, it is filled with
a mixture of 40% antifreeze and 60% water. To prevent the
cooling water from freezing, use a mixture of water and anti-
freeze determined by the minimum temperature in the opera-
tion area using the table below.
