2.2.2 ESD protective measures for installation
ATTENTION
Danger of damage to electronic components from electrostatic discharge.
This product contains electronic components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge (ESD). Contact by persons or objects can cause an electrostatic discharge
that may damage or destroy the product. In order to avoid the risk of electrostatic
discharge, observe the handling instructions and recommendations in line with
EN 100015-1.
Only transport and dispatch disassembled electronics modules in protective
covers.
2.2.3 Areas of use

The use of the digital cylinders in emergency exit closures in accordance with
EN 179 or in panic closures in accordance with EN 1125 is documented in the lock
manufacturers' EC conformity certificates. If the digital cylinder is not listed on the
certificates from the lock manufacturer or the lock does not comply with these
standards, an EC conformity inspection of the lock, digital cylinder, door furniture
and assembly accessories as one unit must be carried out.
The use of a digital cylinder must be checked carefully before using it in locks with a
panic function.
ATTENTION
The following points must be observed for certification to VdS Class B: On doors at
risk of forced-entry, the "Protected" version of the digital cylinder must be
protected with a VdS-recognised burglary-resistant Class B or C doorplate. Such
doorplates correspond to DIN 18 257 Class ES 2 or ES 3, and EN 1906 Class 3 or 4.
The cylinder must protrude no more than 3 mm beyond the doorplate.
The whereabouts of identification media (keys, badges, etc.) must always be known
to ensure only authorised personnel gain access. If identification media are lost, the
authorisation data must be blocked/deleted from all cylinders immediately.
