We put the Kogan KAWFPAC12YA in ‘dry’ mode and took the big exhaust tube off the machine. As a result cool air was coming out the top front, and warm air out of the back exhaust filter. The room became very warm (25 degrees plus), felt more moist ( not less humid) and no water came through the tube out the back. What are we doing wrong?

In 'dry' mode, the Kogan SMARTERHOME KAWFPAC12YA uses the compressor to remove moisture from the air. The compressor generates heat during operation, which is expelled from the back of the unit. At the same time, dehumidified and cooler air is released from the front. This is why the unit blows cool air from the front and warm air from the back in 'dry' mode.
