ATTACHMENT LIFT LEVER SHAFT
REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT:
A
WARNING: T o avoid accidental starting, re-
move spark p l u g wires and secure away from
spark plugs.
A. Before this procedure
IS
performed, the at-
tachment should be removed i r o m this trac-
t o r a s outlined i n " A T T A C H M E N T s e c t i o n of
this service manual.
B. Remove right slde running board by remov-
ing twocapscrewssecuring innerfrontcorner
of running board t o main frame along w ~ t h
two rear carriage bolts. (Fig. 27)

Remove snap ring and all thrust (shim) wash-
ers from left end of lift lever shaft. (Fig. 28)
D. Remove cotter pins from front end of clutch
and brake rods passing below lift lever shaft.
Disconnect rods from clutch/brake pedal as-
sembly. (Fig. 24)
E. Remove four thread forming screws securing
inner retainer bracket to right frame rail. (Fig.
28) Slide bracket away from frame until it
clears frame lip. Pull lift lever handle down
and away f r o m right side of tractor until left
side o f shaft comes out o f frame. Work lift
lever assembly out bottom of tractor.

F. S e r v ~ c e lift lever assembly as required and
reverse above procedures to replace.
NOTE: Lubricate all pivot points with No. 2
wheel bearing grease or Ford I T - M l C 1 3 7 - A
grease, during installation.
THROTTLE CONTROL LEVER REMOVAL
AND REPLACEMENT:
A
WARNING: T o avoid accidental starting, re-
move spark plug wires and secure away f r o m
spark plugs.
A. Unclip hood latches and raise hood and
secure i n upright position.
B. Disconnect throttle cable at engine, by loos-
ening throttle cable clamp screw far enough
so that cable can be removed. Disconnect
cable end f r o m throttle speed control lever.

C.
Remove self tapping screw securlng throttle
cable, choke cableand wire harness through
cableclamp o n top of engine shroud. (Fig. 30)
Pull throttle cable out through plastic grom-
met i n air dam and through cable clamp.
