Front Axle Remove & Replace - Ford YT 16 Manual

E. Loosen (do n o t remove) left and right trans-
saxle pulley belt guides. Swing guides out of
the way, thenslip traction drive belt upand off
of transaxle pulley.
F. Remove t w o capscrews securing front engine
pulley belt guide between main frame. Re-
move belt guide. (Fig. 16)
G. Disconnect wire connection at connector
near electric clutch/brake under main frame.
H. Slip belt off upper engine pulley and down
over electric clutch. (Fig. 16)
I. Remove o l d belt and replace with a new one
by reversing above procedures. Pay special
attention t o "NOTES" below:
NOTE: Set transaxle pulley belt guides t o a
maximum %"away from belt and pulley when
belt is in the "ENGAGED" position. (Fig 17)
NOTE: Position belt finger on rearV-idler pul-
ley as f a r t o the rearas possible until there is a
gap of

FRONT AXLE REMOVAL AND
REPLACEMENT:
A
WARNING: T o avoid accidental starting, re-
move spark plug wires and secure away from
spark plugs.
A. Jack front of tractor up and support with jack
stands on frame as shown in (Fig. 18).

C. Loosen (do not remove) two rear capscrews
holding rear axle pivot bracket to frame. Re-
move t w o front capscrews completely. (Fig.
18)
D. Remove fourthread forming screws securing
bottom air shroud and muffler cover to front
hood pivot brackets. Remove air shroud and
muffler cover.
E. Holding ~ n s i d e locknut, remove front axle
pivot bolt and pull bolt out forward. (Fig. 18)
A
WARNING: To avoid injury from falling parts,
care should be taken to secure assembly
when removing the pivot bolt.
