CLUTCH PIVOT BRACKET REMOVAL:
A
WARNING:
To
avoid accidental starting, re-
move spark p l u g wires a n d secure away from
spark plugs.
A. Before this procedure is performed, the at-
tachment should be removed from this trac-
toras outlined in "ATTACHMENT"section of
this service manual.
B. Depress c1utch:brake pedal and set parking
brake.
C. Loosen

pulley far enough to slip belt o u t between
pulley and belt finger (Fig. 25)
D. Release parking brake and disconnect and
remove traction idler s p r i n g attached t o
clutch pivot bracket. (Fig. 25)

Removecotter pin from clutch arm connected
t o clutch pivot bracket. Disconnect clutch
arm. (Fig. 25)
F. Remove capscrew from flat idler pulley and
pull pulley d o w n and slip belt out from be-
tween pulley and belt finger. Clutch pivot
bracket can also be pulled off support shaft at
this time. Note thesequenceof partsfor reas-
sembly. (Fig. 26)
G. Service c l u t c h pivot bracket as required.
Check condition o f two nyliner bushings in
bracket and replace as necessary. Replace
clutch pivot bracket by reversing above pro-
cedures and pay attention to belt finger adjust-
ments below:
NOTE: Position belt fingeron front (flat) idler
pulley so that it is centered in the belt contact
arc o n pulley when belt is in "ENGAGED"
position. (Fig. 17)
NOTE: Position beltfingeron rearV-idler pul-
ley as far to the rearas possible until there i s a
gap of
' h 6 "
to '/so between belt finger and belt
when belt is in the "ENGAGED" position. See
(Fig. 17)
