3 Installation overview

This chapter describes installing utilities for computers running Windows 95 and
Windows NT 4.0, and setting up printing for Windows 3.1x, Windows 95,
Windows NT 3.51, and Windows NT 4.0.

You may have to install or configure other programs or files before you can

install the user software.
The general steps for installing the DocuColor user software are:
• Install the utilities (Downloader and Spooler) using the Installer.
• If you will be using the utilities with Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 over an
IPX/SPX or TCP/IP network, configure the Chooser list. (This is sometimes done
by your system administrator.)
• Install the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver.
• Set up the printer driver to communicate with the DocuColor.
• If you will be using Adobe Pagemaker, move the printer description file to the
appropriate location.
