Mounting height MFT is measured from the top of the vehicle bed to the centre of the lift arm articulation pin. See Figure 7.5 + Figure 7.6 how this is measured for tail lifts with mechanical or hydraulic auto-tilt at ground level. Where chassis beams, longs sills, the rear sill and other steel chassis or body components have been cut, grinded, drilled, etc…, the installer should apply adequate anti-corrosive coating to protect the vehicle and body against corrosion. Check, and make sure you comply with the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer. DHOLLANDIA...
Methods 1 and 2 can only be used for STANDARD platforms with a conventional rounded edge [ref. OAP310]. Platforms with extended edge (options OAP312, OAP313, OAP407, etc.) require a special approach. Consult your national DHOLLANDIA distributor for further assistance.
Next, raise the platform (by hoist, forklift, overhead gantry crane), and position it onto the mounting supports. Ensure the lift frame is positioned conforming to the mounting instructions indicated in the installation drawing and manual, before drilling or welding the mounting plates to the chassis. During installation, the bolts and nuts must be fastened to the adequate torque, prescribed in these mounting instructions. If you use mounting bolts not supplied by DHOLLANDIA, obtain confirmation of the required torque from your supplier. Check and retighten bolts after the static and dynamic weight test performed at the end of the mounting procedure.

Lift model DH-LM.30 is available in a quick-fit execution DH-LMR.30 for I-beam chassis [option OAU009]. The special lift frame is mounted to the under flange of the chassis by means of bolts and clamps. Contact the local DHOLLANDIA dealer for further advice or instructions.

RUPD and towing hitch constructions must be installed according to DHOLLANDIA’s instructions, and all bolts fastened with the adequate torque [see appendix]. It is not allowed to modify these constructions without prior written approval from DHOLLANDIA.
Hydraulic cylinders might contain air. Piston rods might slide out with shocks when cylinder is filled with oil. Installer must consult and follow the DHOLLANDIA general instructions for maintenance and repair. In case of doubt, contact the national DHOLLANDIA distributor for further assistance.

Tilt the platform open to 45° angle. Align the hole in the tilt cylinders with the hole in the platform hands by means of the electrical controls, or manually [see procedure above]. Adjust the extension so that the centre of its hole [A1] is 5 to max. 10mm longer than the centre of the hole [A2] in the platform hand. Vehicle manufacturers often impose prescribed connections for the battery and earth connections of the lift, which should be observed to avoid damage to the vehicle electrics. Where such prescriptions conflict with the fitting instructions of DHOLLANDIA, contact the vehicle importer or DHOLLANDIA for further advice.

Operating a tail lift that hasn’t successfully passed the PDI can put the operator and third parties at great risk and could result in serious personal injury or death. It is therefore essential that the PDI check is completed with due diligence, and any shortcomings rectified prior to delivery of the vehicle to the operator. DHOLLANDIA...
To reduce the risk of the operator crushing their feet between the raising floor and the end of the vehicle floor, DHOLLANDIA recommends that the installer paints a 400mmx400mm safe operator position at a safe distance of min. 250mm away from the inboard platform edge.
The handheld control [1] is also equipped with a magnet, so that it will stick to any metal surface. Mark the safe operator position on the platform and mount a hand grip to the rear frame of the vehicle body in conformance with Appendix 4. DHOLLANDIA...
