Limitations of Alarm Systems It must be understood that while your Paradox alarm system is highly advanced and secure, it does not offer any guaranteed protection against burglary, fire or other emergency (fire and emergency options are only available on certain Paradox models). Due to the degradation of a power signal over long distances (if such is the case, the PS17 Paradox Power Supply Module is recommended), each length (or run) of wire in the system can support only a specific number of milliamps (mA).
