Before You Call For Service
If you are having an operating problem,
check the list to see what the cause might
be before you call for assistance.
OPERATING PROBLEM
CHECK IF
WHAT TO DO
Nothing
operates
l
Range is properly connected to a live
circuit with the proper voltage.
l
Fuse has blown or circuit breaker has
tripped.
l
Control knob is set in the correct
position.
. Reconnect range to electrical supply. (See
Installation Instructions.)
l
Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
l
Set control knob correctly, if needed.
Oven will not operate
l
Oven Selector is turned to BAKE or
BROIL.
l
Turn Oven Selector to the desired setting, if
needed. If Oven Selector is turned to TIMED
BAKE, wait until start time is reached.
l
Oven Temperature
Control is turned to a
temperature
setting.
l
The automatic clock is set correctly.
l
Turn Oven Temperature
Control to the
desired temperature
setting, if needed.
. See "Using the automatic clock" on page 6
for information on how to set clock.
Surface units will not operate
l
Range is properly connected to a live
circuit with the proper voltage.
l
Fuse has blown or circuit breaker has
tripped.
l
The surface units are plugged in.
l
Reconnect range to electrical supply. (See
Installation Instructions.)
l
Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.

on page 7 for information on how to plug in
surface units.
The Self-Cleaning
cycle will
not operate
l
The Oven Selector and Oven
Temperature
Control are set to CLEAN.
l
The Start Time Dial shows the correct
time of day and the knob is all the way
out.
l
The Stop Time Dial is set ahead to the
time you want the cleaning cycle to stop.
l
The Lock Lever is all the way to the
right.
. Set the Oven Selector and Oven
Temperature
Control to CLEAN, if needed.
l
Turn the Start Time Knob to the correct time
of day. The knob will pop out slightly.
l
See "Setting the controls" on page 9 for
information on how to set the Stop Time
Knob.
l
Move the Lock Lever all the way to the right,
if needed.
Control
knob(s) will not turn
l
You pushed in knob(s) before trying to
turn.
l
Push in knob(s) before turning.
Cooking
results aren't what
you expected
l
The range is level.
l
The oven temperature
seems too low or
too high.
l
If needed, level range.
l
Adjust temperature.
See page 5.
l
Pans are the size called for in the recipe.
l
You are following a tested recipe from a
reliable source.
l
Use correct-size
pans.
l
Modify recipe or find a new recipe.
l
The cooking utensils have smooth, flat
bottoms and fit the surface elements.
l
When baking, you have preheated the
oven as the recipe calls for.
l
When baking, you have allowed 1 l/2 to
2 inches (4-5 cm) on all sides of the
pans for air circulation.
l
Use cooking utensils with smooth, flat
bottoms.
l
Preheat the oven according to recipe's
specifications.
l
Reposition pans for best air circulation.
l
When broiling, you have not completely
closed the broiler door.
l
Open oven door to Broil Stop position.
