4 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

4.1 MAINTENANCE

The CFW500 frequency inverter is equipped with several self-diagnosis functions and HMI
display messages to help the user identify problems with the frequency inverter or its installation.
The CFW500-SFY2 safety functions module, in particular, is equipped with a very accurate self-
diagnosis circuit, which guarantees high levels of safety even under fault conditions. Faults related
to safety are reported as "F0160", which include misconnections of the safety signals, errors in
the safety functions module configuration and damages in the internal circuits. See
ALARMS AND FAULTS RELATED TO THE SAFETY FUNCTIONS MODULE on page 24
most common causes for fault F0160.
If fault F0160 is shown on the frequency inverter display and no external problem can be identified,
then it is possible that there is an internal problem in the safety functions module. In this case,
the frequency inverter must be taken out of operation and then submitted to an authorized
service center. Contact your local WEG supplier to get information on how to proceed.
NOTE!
Never try to fix or allow a non-authorized person to fix any WEG products. The
safety assurance of this frequency inverter is automatically lost if any product
violation occurs.
NOTE!
There are no spare parts for the CFW500-SFY2 safety functions module. In
case of damage, it must be replace by a new one.
NOTE!
The functional safety circuits of the frequency inverter were designed in such
a way that no maintenance or regular tests are necessary. The circuits check
themselves at periodic intervals informing the user if any problem is detected.
NOTE!
When the CFW500-SFY2 safety functions module detects a fault condition and
the SS1-t safety function is used, the frequency inverter attempts to execute
the deceleration of the motor (A0161) before the actuation of fault F0160,
similarly to what occurs when the SS1-t safety function is normally activated
by the safety inputs.
NOTE!
Fault F0160 also represents a safe torque-off state.
