CAUTION: To protect the I/O connector pins, install the I/O connector cover every time a sled is removed
from the enclosure.
4. Install the I/O connector cover over the I/O connector.
CAUTION: If you are permanently removing the sled, install a sled blank. Operating the system for extended
periods of time without a sled blank installed can cause the enclosure to overheat.

Prerequisites

your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the I/O connectors, do not touch connectors or the connector pins.
NOTE: Before installing the sleds, place the chassis in the location that you want.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Steps
1. If you are installing a new sled, remove the plastic cover from the I/O connector(s) and save for future use.
