PROBLEM CAUSE
• Machine not properly threaded.
• Thread entwined around bobbin.
Upper thread breaks • Needle inserted incorrectly.
• Thread tension too tight.
• Thread of incorrect size or poorquality.
• Bobbin threaded incorrectly.
Lower thread breaks • Bobbin wound unevenly or too full.
• Dirt in the bobbin and hook area.
• Needle inserted incorrectly.
• Bent or blunt needle.
Machine skips stitches
• Incorrect size of needle.
• Incorrect size needle on stretch fabric.
• Machine not properly threaded.
• Bobbin threaded incorrectly.
Fabric puckers
• Blunt needle.
• Thread tension too tight.
Machine makes • Bobbin threaded incorrectly.
loose stitches • Machine not properly threaded.
or loops • Tension not adjusted properly.
Threader does • Needle is not raised.
not thread • Needle inserted incorrectly.
needle eye • Bent needle.
Machine does • Feed dogs are lowered.
not feed properly • Lint and dust accumulated around feed dogs.

Needle breaks
• Needle inserted incorrectly.
• Incorrect size needle or thread for fabric being sewn.
Machine runs • Dirt or lint accumulated
with difficulty
• Cord not plugged into electrical outlet.
• Power switch is not turned on.
• Bobbin winder spindle is pushed to the right.
Machine will not run • Presser foot is not lowered.
• Buttonhole Sewing Mode;
1. Buttonhole lever is not lowered completely.
2. Buttonhole foot is not attached.

CORRECTION
• Rethread machine.
• Clean bobbin area and rethread bobbin case.
• Reinsert needle.
• Readjust thread tension.
• Choose correct thread.
• Rethread the bobbin.
• Rewind the bobbin.
• Clean the bobbin and hook area.
• Reinsert needle.
• Insert new needle.
• Choose correct size needle for fabric.
• Use stretch needle.
• Rethread machine.
• Rethread the bobbin.
• Insert new needle.
• Readjust thread tension.
• Rethread the bobbin.
• Rethread machine.
• Readjust thread tension.
• Raise the needle.
• Reinsert needle.
• Insert new needle.
• Raise the feed dogs.
• Clean the feed dogs area.
• Do not pull fabric.
• Select correct foot and pattern.
• Reinsert needle.
• Choose correct size needle and thread.
Remove the needle plate and bobbin case
and clean the hook race and feed dog.
• Insert plug fully into outlet.
• Turn on the switch.
• Push spindle to the left.
• Lower the foot.

1. Lower the buttonhole lever.
2. Attach the buttonhole foot.
