You have to configure the system starting from the section Creating the IEC
system(s) [➙ 47].
Stand-alone (MM8000) or Stand-alone Station (MK8000). A new empty project
is created. This kind of project is not suitable for configuring an NK8237 IEC
GW.
Note: Do not use an MM8000 or MK8000 empty project for configuring the
NK8237 IEC GW, which cannot be used in MM8000 or MK8000 configurations.
Opening the project
To open the NK8237 project, select it in the Projects Management window and
click Open.
By default, the project main node is named "Project Node". You can customise this
name by clicking the node. Then:
Press F2 and enter the new name for the node.
Click the node again and enter the new name for the node.
Select the Node tab on the right pane and enter the new name in the
Description field.
Note: If the project is empty, be careful not to add to the project structure any
node that is not included in the following procedures. In fact, it may not be
possible to delete such nodes (for example, Security).

Creating the IEC system(s)

This configuration task is carried out in Composer on a project created for the
NK8237 gateway starting from an empty template.
Note: The creation of the IEC system is the first step of the NK8237 configuration.
Failing to create the IEC system at the very beginning prevents you from
configuring the fire system and the rest of the project.
