3.1 Overview

3.2 Point-of-operation Guarding
IMPROPER POINT -OF -OPERAT ION INST AL L ATION.
•
Do NOT us e the F F -SYA234 multibeam sy stems or the FF -SYA60 light c urtains for point-of-operation guarding. Us e the
F F -SYA14 or FF -SYA30 light c urtains only .
•
DO NOT allow an operator to stand undetected between the light c urtain and the mac hine when us ing F F -SYA Series
s afety light c urtains for point-of-operation guarding.

Point-of-operation is defined as that area where a mac hine performs work (s uc h as c utting, s haping, boring, or forming) on a
material. F or point-of-operation guarding the FF -SYA14 and FF -SYA30 s afety light c urtain(s ) and any mec hanic al guards
mus t be ins talled s o no one c an stand undetected between the light c urtain and the dangerous mac hine z one. Additional hard
guarding, interloc k ed guarding, light c urtain, s afety mats or s afety s c anners may be required.
3.3 Perimeter Guarding
