4.5.1 Permanent Self-checking (Monitoring)

Safety static outputs OSSD1 and OSSD2 (Output Signal Switc hing Dev ic es ) are s witc hed s imultaneous ly . An internal
permanent s elf-c heck (monitoring) v erifies that both s tatic outputs alway s hav e the s ame s tatus. If one of the two outputs
remains ac c identally c los ed, the remaining output would no longer be able to c los e. Similarly, a poss ible internal or external
s hort-c irc uit of one of the two outputs will immediately bring about the opening of the other output. An internal or ex ternal
s hort-c irc uit between the two outputs will als o lead to the opening of the light c urtain outputs .
CONNE CT ION OF FF -SYA ST AT IC OUT PUT S T O T HE POWER SUPPL Y
•
By -pas s ing the FF -SYA s tatic outputs by c onnec ting them to the power s upply will be detected by the F F -SYA s afety light
c urtain.
•
If the s tatic outputs are temporarily c onnected to +24 Vdc, the outputs will remain open for an additional 100 ms after the
outputs are remov ed from this c onnec tion. T his c ondition may be detected by the relay ing interfac e.
•
If the s tatic outputs are temporarily c onnected to 0 Vdc, the output will remain permanently open, ev en after the outputs
are remov ed from this c onnec tion. Normal operation is ac hiev ed by s witc hing the power off and on.

T he c ros s -monitoring of the FF -SYA s tatic outputs is bas ed upon a s elf-c hec k ing princ iple whic h guarantees the
detec tion of an output s hort-c irc uit and the detection of a s hort-c irc uit between the outputs (c ross -fault detection). T he
c ompatible s afety c ontrol modules are primarily des igned to be interfac ed with Honey well s afety static outputs (s ee
c hapter 6 Order Guide). Compatibility with any other emergenc y stop relay module is not guaranteed.

4.5.2 Protection of Machine Stop Contacts

T he OSSD1 and OSSD2 outputs must be protec ted by an ex ternal 1,5 A max. fus e. It is als o rec ommended to c onnec t
