Quick Reference Guide for XIOS Intraoral Sensor
System
Please follow these guidelines to avoid possible errors or problems
during the installation of the XIOS software and hardware.
NEVER PLUG IN ANY HARDWARE BEFORE INSTALLING
1. Installing Sidexis Imaging Software Version 2.2 or higher
XIOS Intraoral Sensors only run with Sidexis Software Version 2.2 or higher. If older versions of
Sidexis Imaging Software are installed in the practice, Sidexis Software needs to be updated to
Version 2.2 or higher before installing the XIOS Intraoral Sensor System.
1.1
Install Sidexis Imaging Software 2.2 (or higher versions)
2. Installing XIOS Software (USB Driver)
NEVER plug in any hardware before installing the XIOS software.
2.1
Use the XIOS Software CD 2.23 to install the XIOS USB driver. CD should autorun, if not
double-click on the autorun.bat file to start CD and follow the instructions.
2.2
The autorun CD will automatically install all applicable patches.
3. Install XIOS sensor calibration file
3.1
Insert CD supplied with each Sensor. CD will autorun, if not double-click the autorun file to
start.
Pop-up will show up VERY shortly on the bottom right: "Sensor calibration successful"
Note: In case the Sensor Calibration CD is lost and the calibration files are needed they can be
downloaded through SIDEXIS Manager\XIOS Sensor download: Enter SN – select download
location.
4. Connecting XIOS USB module
4.1
ONLY use USB ports on the back of the PC, not the front port. The ports on the back of the PC
are directly soldered to the board, while the front one use internal cables which might introduce
problems
4.2
Disable power saving for USB ports:
Under System Properties\Hardware\Device Manager\USB Root Hubs – make sure to uncheck
all boxes under Power Management. All hubs need to be unchecked separately.
