Replacing the battery in the central unit

The sole function of the battery is to supply the red fault indicator (operating
display 1) in the case of an interruption to the supply voltage. In Germany this
is a requirement of VDI 2053 for underground car parks.
2 Remove strips from upper part of VarioGard central unit.
3 Undo the four screws on the upper part and remove upper part.
Remove insulating paper and take batteries (two) out of holder;
insert new batteries.
Refit insulating paper, upper part and strips.
The following batteries may be used:
– Mignon / AA (any brand); leakproof, with non-conductive casing.
Used batteries
– must not be burned
– must not be recharged
– must not be punctured
– should be disposed of as special waste
in accordance with local waste disposal regulations.
The local environmental agency and suitable disposal contractors can
advise.
