5.6 Troubleshooting

PROBLEM
The boiler does not reach its set tempera-
ture.
The boiler keeps shutting down, and the
control panel warning light comes on.
The boiler has reached the set tempera-
ture but the radiators are still cold.
There is a smell of exhaust fumes.
The safety valve keeps opening.
There are traces of condensate on the rear
head.
CAUSE TROUBLESHOOTING
Heat exchanger dirty.
Heat exchanger and burner mismatched.
Insufficient burner gas flow.
Control thermostat problem.
Control thermostat problem.
No water supply.
Air in the circuit.
Air in the circuit.
Pump malfunctioning.
Problem with minimum temperature
aquastat (if present).
Fumes are escaping into the air.
Excessive pressure in the circuit.
Problem with heating system expansion
vessel.

TROUBLESHOOTING
− Clean the flue gas pipes.
− Check specifications and settings.
− Check and adjust the burner.
− Check the functioning of the aquastat.
− Check the temperature setting.
− Check the functioning of the aquastat.
− Check the temperature setting.
− Check the electrical wiring.
− Check the sensor bulbs.
− Check the circuit pressure.
− Check the vent valve.
− Bleed the circuit.
− Check/release the pump.
− Check the temperature setting.
− Check that the boiler body is clean.
− Check that the flue pipes are clean.
− Check that the boiler, flue pipes and flue
gas exhaust stack are all properly sealed.
− Check the circuit pressure.
− Check the functioning of the pressure
reducer.
− Check the settings of the pressure reduc-
er.
− Check the efficiency of the expansion
vessel.
− Check the seals between the rear head
and the flue gas box.
