Be sure to follow the precautions indicated below, as these are important messages related to safety. Failure to follow this message may cause immediate threat of death or DANGER serious injury, or complete failure of the equipment.

    When interference or breakdown occurs in telemetry communication, the user is required to inform the zone manager and the overall manager of the problems. The zone manager and overall manager are to deal with the problem properly and/or contact their nearest Fukuda Denshi representative for service.

    Non-Explosion Proof Never operate the equipment in the presence of flammable anesthetics, high concentration of oxygen, or inside hyperbaric chamber. Also, do DANGER not operate the equipment in an environment in which there is a risk of explosion. Explosion or fire may result. Defibrillation Safety When defibrillating, keep away from the electrodes or medicament applied to the patient chest.

    Danger such as electric shock may result to the patient and operator. Do not connect unit or cable not authorized by Fukuda Denshi to any I/O connector. If done so by mistake, the device can not deliver its maximum performance and the connected units may be damaged, resulting in a safety hazard.

System · The DS-7001 is intended for patient monitoring in the general ward, ICU, CCU, OR and during in-hospital transportation. Do not use in the MRI environment, inside hyperbaric chamber, flammable anesthetic gas and outside hospital (including inside ambulance).

    To Turn On the Power Connecting the Power Cable Connect the accompanying AC power cable (CS-18) to the monitor and to the 3-way grounded outlet. When the AC power is supplied to the monitor, the main power lamp will light in green.
  • Page 50: For Use With The Battery

    Using the battery for operating the DS-7001 allows monitoring at places where AC power source is not available such as during in-hospital patient transportation. One battery is used for the DS-7001. When fully charged, the DS-7001 is capable to operate for about 60 minutes.

    Circuit Explanation of the CPU Board The RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) processor is used for the CPU. It controls memory such as SRAM and each peripheral IC.     Analog Board (PCB-6972) The analog board directly connects to the PCB-6940 CPU board. Also, it is connected to the NIBP amplifier board, SpO unit, and the measurement data is output to the CPU board via serial communication as with the signals from each measurement circuit.

The oscillation is performed with a stable frequency synthesizer controlled by a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator. The frequency change is performed by the CPU control. The data transmission speed is 7000bps of binary FSK modulation, and a unique process of transmission error check is performed.
