4-2 Using the SCSI Disk Surveillance Tool

Selecting this command with one or more disks
selected in the List View pane causes the LED
indicators on the corresponding disks to blink. This
allows you to check which actual physical disks
correspond to the disks shown in the main window.
Maintenance Menu
The Maintenance menu contains the following
commands.
Start Tool
Displays a dialog from which you can select and start
maintenance tools.
Help Menu
The Help menu contains the following commands.
Help (

Displays help about SCSI Disk Watcher.
About ScsiDiskWatcher
Displays the version of SCSI Disk Watcher.
4-2-4 Main Operations in SCSI
Disk Watcher
This sections explains the main operations you can do
after starting SCSI Disk Watcher.
Saving Disk Connection Information
Proceed as follows.

Select Save Connection Information from the File
menu, or click the
A save dialog appears.

Specify the file name and save destination in the
save dialog and click the Save button.
Connection information is saved to the specified
file.

The information is not saved if a file of the same
name already exists in the save destination.
When the save finishes, a dialog appears asking if you
want to open the file. Click Yes to view the file
contents in Internet Explorer.
Note
The file is not opened if Internet Explorer is not
installed in the default location. In this case, you can
view the file with an XML viewer.
Using the Parameters of surveillance
service Dialog
The Parameters of surveillance service Dialog appears
when you select Parameters of Surveillance Tool from
the File menu. This section explains various operations
you can do in this dialog.
To specify the number of log data items to
save, and the warning level
You can specify how many log sense data items should
be saved by the Surveillance Service Application. You
can also specify the Surveillance Service Application
log sense error level for which warning messages
should be displayed.
Proceed as follows.

To specify the number of log sense data items to be
saved, enter the desired number (1 to 256) in the
Number of log data items per file box.

To specify the warning level, click the option
button for the desired level ("All", "Warning or
higher", or "Format or higher").
