    GETTING STARTED/INSTALLATION Thank you for purchasing Hunter Douglas Sonnette Cellular Roller Shades with PowerView ® ® Automation. With proper installation, operation, and care, your new shades will provide years of beauty and performance. Please thoroughly review this instruction booklet and the enclosed packing list before beginning the installation.

    INSTALLATION STEP 1: Mount the Installation Brackets Your order will include the correct number of installation brackets for your shade width, as ■ shown in the table below. NOTE: If your shade’s dimensions exceed 84" in width or length, XL brackets will be included.

    INSTALLATION Mount the Installation Brackets — Inside Mount Prepare the Installation Brackets Use pliers or heavy duty scissors to remove the top ■ tabs on the installation brackets.     INSTALLATION Attach the installation brackets using the screws provided. ■ IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten the screws. Check to ensure the bracket lever can be moved easily side to side. If not, loosen the screws in one-eighth turn increments until the lever can be moved easily. IMPORTANT: The front edges of the installation brackets must be level and aligned to each other.

  • Page 17 INSTALLATION If You Have an 18V DC Power Supply with Daisy-Chain Connections... The daisy-chain feature allows up to three PowerView shades to be powered by a single ® 18V DC Power Supply. However, each shade can operate independently. The daisy-chain feature is only available with the 18V DC Power Supply option.

    OPERATION Testing the Shade Use the programming button to test the shade and ensure that the motor and power source are working correctly. Press the programming button to lower the shade. If the shade does not operate, see ■ “Troubleshooting” on page 18. Press the programming button to raise the shade.

    OPERATION Resetting the Shade (If Necessary) Calibration Reset The calibration reset is used to recalibrate the shade’s travel limits. 1. Press and hold the programming button for approximately 6 seconds. The shade will move slightly. Release the programming button (the light flashes red). 2.
  • Page 21 OPERATION Problem The shade does not operate using the programming button. Solution Unplug the power cable from the motor, then plug it back in. An LED inside the programming button housing should flash GREEN four times to indicate the motor has power. Check that the batteries in the battery wand, satellite battery pack, or C-size satellite battery wand are correctly inserted and fresh.
  • Page 22 OPERATION Problem Rechargeable battery needs recharging. Solution There are two methods for charging the rechargeable battery wand — the dual charging station or the single charger. CAUTION: Rechargeable Battery Wand can only be charged with Hunter Douglas provided charging options — alternative charging devices may result in permanent damage.
  • Page 23 OPERATION Problem Rechargeable battery needs recharging (continued) Recharging Via the Single Charger Solution Remove the rechargeable battery wand from the mount, or insert the single charger cable without removing from the shade. Attach the plug adapter to the charger. ■ Plug the charger into a standard AC outlet.
  • Page 24 OPERATION Problem The bottom rail does not raise or lower completely, or its location when fully lowered has changed over time. Solution The batteries may be low in the battery wand, satellite battery pack, or C-size satellite battery wand. Replace the batteries. Check that the power source is securely connected to the power cable and the cables are not pinched or caught in the headrail or installation brackets.
  • Page 25 OPERATION Problem The power cord isn't accessible for the use with a satellite battery pack or 18V DC Power Supply. Reroute the Power Cord Solution The power cord is located in the front of the shade for an 18V battery wand. The Satellite Battery Pack and the 18V DC Power Supply require the power cord to be rerouted to the back of the shade.

  • Page 28 OPERATION Problem The shade raises or lowers unevenly, the bottom rail is not level when fully raised, or the fabric winds unevenly, or starts to rub against one end of the headrail. Solution Keep the bottom rail level while raising the shade. Side-to-side movement while raising the shade may cause fabric to skew.
