    3. The unit should only be used on a level surface and is intended for indoor use only. The unit should not be placed in a garage, patio, or near water and should never be used while you are wet. Keys Fitness recommends a mat be placed under the unit to protect floor or carpet and for easier cleaning.

    Before You Start Thank you for purchasing the Cardiomax 705el Elliptical! This quality product you have chosen was designed to meet your needs for cardiovascular exercise. Before you start, please read the Owner's Manual and become familiar with the operation of your new unit.

    Assembly INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY: Unpack the box in a clear area. Check to make sure all components are present and in good condition. Do not dispose of the packing material until the assembly is completed. Tools have been provided for you to use when assembling this product.

  • Page 7 Assembly FIGURE 3 Step 1: Attach the Small Handlebar (E) and the Clamp (L5) to the Support Tube (F) and secure in place using two Washers M6 (L4), two Spring Washers M6 (L3), and two Nuts M6 (L2). (Figure 3a) Step 2: Slide the Pulse Wire (E5) through the hole at the top of the Support Tube (F).
  • Page 8 Assembly FIGURE 5 Step 1: Remove the hardware from the Axle Tube (H1). Step 2: Push the Axle Tube (H1) through the Support Tube (F2) as shown in Figure 5a. Step 3: Push the Left and Right Handlebars (B2 & B1) onto each side of the Axle Tube (H1). Note: The handles must be positioned so that the upper ends are bent outward.

    Console Instructions FUNCTIONS: SCAN: Automatically switches through each function in sequence so that you can monitor your progress without pressing the MODE button each time. SPEED: Displays the current exercise speed on the console screen. TIME: This will count up from 00:00 up to 99:50 if you do not enter a preset time. If you do enter a preset time the console will count down from the time you set to 0:00.

    Moving Instructions CAUTION! TO REDUCE THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY WHILE LIFTING, BEND YOUR LEGS AND KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT. AS YOU LEAN THE UNIT, LIFT USING YOUR LEGS, NOT YOUR BACK. Stand at the front of the unit and using the small handlebar, carefully tilt the machine until the weight is trans- ferred to the transport wheels.
