Tighten the rear axle nut to be specified
torque:
Rear axle nut torque:
88 N·m (8.9 kgf·m , 65 lbf·ft)
When installing the wheel carefully fit the
brake disc (for Disc) between the brake
pads to avoid damaging the pads. Adjust
the brake (for Drum).
After installing the wheel, apply the brake
several times and then check if the wheel
rotates freely. Recheck the wheel if the brake
drags or if the wheel does not rotate freely.
If a torque wrench was not used for
installation, visit your Honda dealer as
soon as possible to verify proper torquing.
Improper torque may lead to loss of braking
capacity.

BRAKE PAD WEAR

Refer to the Safety
Brake pad wear depends upon the severity
of usage, the type of riding, and road
conditions. (Generally, the pads will wear
faster on wet and dirty roads.)

Inspect
the
pads
maintenance interval (page 43).
Front Brake
Check the "Wear Indicator Grooves" (1) in
each pad.
If either pad is worn to the bottom of the
wear indicator grooves, replace both pads
as a set. Visit your Honda dealer for this
service.
