    Removing the top cover and faceplate § Torque limiting screwdriver § T-6 TORX bit § A pair of tweezers Remove the two side screws and one rear screw that attach the top cover to the tape drive (see Figure 1). .ECKHA Removing the top cover To remove the top cover, slide it back about 1 inch (2.6 cm).
  • Page 4 Removing the top cover and faceplate If your tape drive has an LCD on the faceplate, disconnect the LCD flex cable before you remove the faceplate. Unlock the LCD flex cable connector by pulling one end of the tab and then the other toward the cable (see Figure 2).

    ! Removing the cartridge loader If your tape drive has a wire clip on the inner front panel, use a T-6 screwdriver to loosen the clip (see Figure 4). Remove the wires from the clip. .ECKHA" Loosening the cartridge loader wire clip Use a pair of tweezers to disconnect the cartridge loader wire connector from the circuit board (see Figure 5).

    " Installing the cartridge loader Use a T-6 screwdriver to remove the three screws that secure the cartridge loader to the tape drive (see Figure 5). The screws are very small. Be careful not to drop them into the tape drive. Lift the back of the cartridge loader slightly.

    # Replacing the faceplate and top cover Place the tape drive on a flat surface. Align the bottom of the replacement faceplate with the bottom of the tape drive. Position the LED guard on the back of the faceplate on the left side of the tape drive. Position the faceplate tabs inside the side panels and press the faceplate onto the tape drive (see Figure 7).
