BALL DETECTORS
A ball detector is used to determine when a ball enters the pinsetter. The signal is then used to
increment the ball count for the bowling frame and cycle the pinsetter if a pin was knocked over or if it
was the last ball in the frame. Refer to Figure 3-33.

(1) REFLECTORS
Ball Detector Unit
The pinsetter ball detector unit is made up of an infrared transmitter and receiver. The red LED (Light
Emitting Diode) mounted on the ball detect is "on" when the beam is not being received back from the
reflector. This indicates a ball or some object is in the beam's path or there is an alignment problem. An
Up/down and side to side alignment adjustments are available on the unit. Refer to Figure 3-34.
