Fan Module Replacement
Remove only one fan module while the system is operating. Removing more than one fan module could
Caution
cause overheating. To maintain proper cooling, do not operate the server for more than one minute with
any fan module removed.
Procedure
Step 1
Remove the top cover from the chassis.
Step 2
Remove a fan module:
a) Place thumb and index finger into the release latches on the fan module.
b) Gently squeeze the latches to disengage the fan module.
c) Slide the fan module straight up and out of the chassis.
Step 3
Install a new fan Module
a) Set the new fan module in place, aligning the connector on the bottom of the fan module with the connector
on the motherboard
b) Press down gently on the fan module until the latch clicks and locks in place.
Step 4
Replace the top cover to the chassis.
